Before I make a poll of this, let's hear your thoughts on one of the most difficult issues:
How to handle KHL players.
1. Should KHL players be allowed (my lean: yes)
2. Should their cap hit simply be their salary in the KHL, or should we vote on what would be a relatively reasonable cap hit?
3. How should their statistics be judged relative to their NHL brethren?
Let's try to come to a consensus on this one.

You wouldn't happen to have a link to this, would you? If they have one I think it would be great for our collective sanity to go with that.
And obviously people are clamoring for Jiri Slegr and John Grahame. Duh.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of using KHL players. This is supposed to be a draft of NHL players. If we open it up to KHL, then we'd have to open it up to Swedish Elite, Finnish leagues and all international players as well. I think we should just limit it to either NHL free agents or players with current NHL contracts.

Perhaps we could create a pool of 30 foreign players and each team can elect to choose ONE (or not at all) and we could make it something like: 1st round pick: $6.5 million 2nd round pick: $5.5 million 3rd round pick: $4 million Or something like that? DBD's right: at some point this would get crazy but it would be fun to at least have a few notables available.

Sorry, it was Behind the Net Blog: behindthenet.ca/blog/2008/10/russian-khl-league-equivalency-to-date.htmlI see this being a big headache, myself. I don't really want any KHL players, per se. Plus, it will be really awkward when someone picks Cherepanov and then demands a pick in next year's draft.

Yeah, after pondering it a bit more it seems like it would be more work than it's worth.
How about this:
If this draft turns out as fun as it potentially can be, we'll try to integrate foreign leagues NEXT year?

I think this is pretty complicated as-is. Those players chose the KHL.. they don't get to be here.

I'm with jibble. Theres enough here, and really, Jagr and Radulov would be by far the most attractive options down this road. And they're both douchebags, so fuck em. Let's not add a bunch of extra mess by dealing with other leagues. If you jumped ship to Stalin's league, tough noogies, you don't get to play with us.

1. Are KHL players (besides those that bolted the NHL, i.e. Hudler) even available on NHL 10? 2. How about KHL players allowed only under a certain cap hit? 3. Can we even find out KHL salaries?
I would love to draft Omark.
