I vote we start using a 4 hour time limit.

Eh, I'm not very much in favor of a time limit. More to the point, people need to either plan things appropriately (if youre not available, give someone a short list), and people need to pay attention and check on the draft frequently. If you can't do that, or you can't pick a third line forward, then quit and let someone else take over your team. If you're not interested in still doing this, then quit. Its better than making it less fun for the other 29 people still doing it.

I wasn't in favour of a time limit initially because I thought people could handle it as you say. Obviously they're not though -- it's been 5 days since I last picked and we're still 10 away from my next pick -- which is why I think it's time to reconsider the time limit.

First of all, I don't appreciate the college remark. I have 8:00am classes both Thursday and Friday, thank you very much.
Second, I'm pissed that there was such a big gap in drafting because now I have to send a list because I'm moving in tomorrow. And I needed to rant about that somewhere.
Thirdly, I still don't like the idea of a time limit. To me it's truly not that hard to just forward a list of players to someone because I know it might be likely that I'm not available tomorrow. Or at least to give a heads up that I'm gone from 8-5 working so don't expect a pick or something like that. People shouldn't be punished because they have lives outside of the computer... but they shouldn't leave the rest of us hanging, either.

Also, if people would rather send a list than be bound by a time limit ... fine? Is there really that big a difference? I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound like a jerk here but this waiting between picks is getting ridiculous. It has become clear that people are not managing this well. That, as you say, leaves everyone else hanging.

This is ridiculous, the season will start by the time we get through this. And you people were talking about adding rounds ...
I understand that some people have jobs or "lives" but that is still ridiculous that there hasn't been a single pick made in the last 17 hours.

But at this point I'm flabbergasted: there isn't a single person stalling. It's broken down in an elegant terrorist-like splinter cell of fuck ups and it seems pointless to try to get on people with e-mails and other means of followup. It's pretty difficult for me to justify the idea of drafting beyond the 20th (hell, 12th) round at this point.

apparently this is college. We take Thursdays off, and only get things done before noon on Tuesdays.

Since James seems willing to take lists, I think everyone needs to send him a top 5 for every round. If you can't make you own pick within three or four hours of the last pick, he takes a name off of the list.
The fact that we can already pre-rank and start leagues on ESPN is almost making this obsolete and we aren't halfway through. Once Yahoo gets going and preseason games start playing it will be even harder to get picks made on here.
